have been converted and enlarged for domestic
use and both have log fires! There is ample parking.
The Green Leaf Tourism Scheme
The Green Leaf Tourism Scheme helps
businesses take important steps towards
being greener. The
businesses in the scheme try to minimise traffic,
support local producers and help visitors to get
the best out of the forest without ruining it. It's
about protecting the history, culture, wildlife
and traditions of the forest. From
discounts for guests using public transport
to serving dishes made from local New Forest
Marque produce Green Leaf businesses are
doing their bit.
Green Leaf businesses including Gothic
Cottage and Badgers Holt (which provide some
New Forest Marque complimentary items), support
the New Forest Marque which in turn helps small
and unique businesses thrive. www.newforestproduce.com
New Forest Marque
Members of the Marque produce Pannage
pork made from Forest roaming pigs who feed on
acorns. They also produce local cheese, seafood,
wines, beers, jams, biscuits and soap. Everything
is fresh, truly local and distinctive.
The village of Milford-on-Sea is one mile
from the Manor and this includes the half
mile private drive to the main road!
If you go a further half mile there is the
sea front and cliffs with the Needles clearly
on view.
The New Forest is 5 miles from Newlands Manor
and mountain bikes are available for guests
to use together with a rack which fits most
cars. One can walk half a mile down our back
drive to the nearest pub which also serves
good food.
We are approximately 3 miles from Lymington,
8 miles from Christchurch, 16 miles from
Southampton and 15 miles from Bournemouth.
