Gothic Cottage – Self Catering Accommodation
Gothic Cottage is a semi-detached Grade II listed cottage at number 9, Newlands Manor and it is self contained with entrances from the courtyard and from the garden.
Accessibility
From the parking area in the courtyard there is an 8” step down to the cottage entrance which is 27” wide.
The door to the garden is 30” wide and there are two steps up to the lawn path; the lower one is 4” high and the higher one is 7” high.
The door openings to the various rooms are generally 25” wide, but the corridor to the shower room and second bedroom is only 22” wide, making the cottage unsuitable for wheelchairs.
Visually Impaired Visitors
The lighting in the apartment is very good with plenty of adjustment as required. In the kitchen apart from the main light there is under shelf lighting and spotlights.
The floors inside the cottage are on one level.
People who are deaf or hard of hearing
The television in Gothic Cottage has teletext and Freeview, giving the option of sub-titled programmes.
Assistance to Guests
We are generally on hand to welcome guests when they arrive and to show them the facilities. We always try to attend to any special needs and we always offer to carry guests' luggage into the cottage for elderly or disabled guests.
We live in a house adjacent to Gothic Cottage so we are on hand to give any assistance which may be required.
