Badgers Holt – Self Catering Accommodation
Badgers Holt is the upper floor of the Old Boathouse at number 13, Newlands Manor and it is self contained with its own entrance via an external wooden staircase from the garden gate.
Accessibility
It is reached by a wooden staircase and there is no lift in the building so it is not normally suitable for wheelchair users. The entrance doorway to Badgers Holt is 31” wide and the other doorways to the bedroom and bathroom are 28” wide
For persons who are visually impaired the staircase has a handrail each side and the balcony at the top of the staircase has a high safety rail.
Visually Impaired Visitors
The lighting in the apartment is very good with plenty of adjustment as required. In the kitchen apart from the main light there is under shelf lighting and adjustable spotlights.
There are lights at the bottom of the staircase and on the balcony and these are activated together by push button timed switches at the bottom of the staircase and inside the entrance door.
People who are deaf or hard of hearing
The television in Badgers Holt has teletext and Freeview, giving the option of sub-titled programmes.
Assistance to Guests
We are generally on hand to welcome guests when they arrive and to show them the facilities. We always try to attend to any special needs and we always offer to carry guests' luggage up to Badgers Holt.
